A
Little
History...
DesignerCon
was
founded
in
2006
under
the
name
of
Vinyl
Toy
Network.
The
show
was
created
to
bring
together
the
artists,
manufacturers,
distributors
and
retailers
of
the
vinyl
toy/collectible
figures
market.
When
it
first
started
the
show
was
brought
to
Pasadena
Convention
Center
in
one
of
their
1100
sq.ft.
meeting
rooms.
Even
since
the
first
show
the
artists
and
collectors
came
out
to
support
the
show.
Since
it's
begining
the
show
has
grown
into
larger
halls
with
larger
crowds,
more
artists
and
of
course
more
attendees.
Every
year
the
show
is
thinking
of
new
and
exciting
ways
to
grow
and
draw
more
people
in.
In
2009
the
show
had
decided
that
due
to
the
fact
that
it
had
outgrown
the
"vinyl
toy"
aspect
that
it
should
be
renamed
to
DesignerCon.
DesignerCon
now
covers
all
aspects
of
design
and
art
including
it's
root
elements
in
the
vinyl
toy
industry.
The
show
has
grown
to
support
apparel,
plush
design,
printing,
sculpture
and
art
ranging
from
fine
to
urban.
Now
in
a
25,000
sq.
ft.
hall
with
over
70
vendors,
live
modeling,
live
painting
and
plenty
of
other
surprises
the
show
is
better
than
ever.
